ADHURI KAHANI HAMARI SERIAL MOVIE
The movie is picturesque, exquisite but as the lines from the movie only go, “too much perfection spoils the beauty.” Barring the screenplay, which is wonderful, and the actors, every reason is the reason why the movie can’t work in 2015. ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ forms the perfect example of good-gone-bad. And no parent would want to take their on-vacation kid to a movie that forces you to cry because it’s emotional. Movies like ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ will work, despite critics asking to skip it, for they are fun and match the mood of vacations. You have had fun movies like ‘Piku’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ released in the past weeks. Half way into the movie and the opening lines from BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharata’ – “Main Samay Hoon” – reverberate in your mind. The ultimate was ‘maang meri, sindooor tumhare naam ka, kokh meri bachcha tumhare naam ka…’ Ms Dialogue writer, here’s it: ‘Tickets meri, nuksaan tumhare naam ka…’Ĥ. And we are forgetting the number of times such over-the-top, too dramatic dialogues hit the ears and damage ear drums. There’ll be a point in the movie when you’ll get frustated with the number of times “sachcha prem” is said in the movie. Yes, you respect people, show too but not like, “‘tum bhagwaan ho’, let me touch your feet.” Toooooo 90ish.ģ. A silent, blank, walking Vidya (as Vasudha) goes near Emraan, who plays Aarav, and jumps, literally and figuratively, to touch his feet. The movie is beautiful, to say the least. And when you get to see such ‘sutras’ at your home on your TV, why would you waste Rs 300 for a movie ticket?Ģ. There’s too much of ‘mangalsutra’ in the age of ‘kamasutra’.
